Bio:
Stéphane Lam is a Toronto based freelance photographer who is aspiring to become a photojournalist. His approach to photography can be singled out as one of the most unique and interpretive amongst photographers today.
At the age of 31, his work has now begun to gather attention all across the web. You wouldn’t beleive that Stéphane actually started shooting seriously at the age of 30! It all boils down to a rich family history of photographers and artists…
Stéphane, comes from a long line of talented artists, starting with his grandfather (François Lim) and great uncle (Lin Fengmian), a traditional chinese painter. François Lim was one of the most prolific and important photographers to come from the island of Mauritius. His father, James Lim, and uncle, Philip Lim, are also photographers, who studied under François.
At an early age, Stéphane had show an interest in the arts. He would start drawing and painting, and at age 18, had gotten into music and playing guitar. But it wasn’t until the age of 28 that he started playing with cameras on and off. Within a few years, He went on a vacation to his father’s native Mauritus, which turned out to be a photography expedition and life changing moment, he was hooked!
Stéphane currently resides in the village of Streetsville, where he plans to start a studio and experimenting with other styles and fund more travels.
